
EU Special Representative Meets Senior Armenian and Azerbaijani Officials

On August 19, Toivo Klaar, the special representative of the European Union (EU), Hikmet Hajiyev, the Assistant of the President of Azerbaijan, and Armen Grigoryan, the Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia met.
"We had good and substantial discussions with Hikmet Hajiyev and Armen Grigoryan regarding Azerbaijan-Armenia relations and the EU's participation in the process in Brussels," he wrote on his Twitter account.
At the meeting, the diplomats of Azerbaijan and Armenia exchanged views on the next meeting expected to be held in Brussels.
Earlier, on August 6, the President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel, wrote on his Twitter page that the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia will meet in Brussels soon. "I have talked to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on the phone separately about recent events in the region. We work together to ensure de-escalation and open communication. Ahead of our next meeting with the leaders in Brussels, the main thing is to continue the dialogue and achieve concrete progress on all the issues on the agenda," he said on his Twitter page
