NATO Delegation Visits Azerbaijan
On November 21, within the framework of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) for 2022 between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and NATO, NATO Days started in Baku, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.

On November 21, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, the First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, met with Rear Admiral Gunnstein Brusdal, the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Partnership Directorate at NATO's Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe, who was on a visit to Azerbaijan as part of the NATO Days.
Welcoming the guest, Colonel General Valiyev emphasized the development of relations between Azerbaijan and NATO and the active participation of Azerbaijan Army representatives in various NATO programs. "Stressing the importance of the victory gained in the Patriotic War under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army spoke about the work done in the liberated territories during the post-war period," the report added.
Prospects for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO and areas of joint activity against current and potential threats were discussed at the meeting.
Valiyev highly appreciated the contribution of the North Atlantic Alliance to the training of the Azerbaijan Army units as part of the NATO Operational Capabilities Concept.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Rear Admiral Brusdal emphasized that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner of the North Atlantic Alliance and highly appreciated the active participation of Azerbaijan in the fight against terrorism, the activities of Azerbaijan Army service members at NATO headquarters, as well as their professionalism demonstrated in international peacekeeping missions.
NATO delegation visits the National Defense University
On November 22, a delegation visited the National Defense University.
Professor Lieutenant General Heydar Piriyev, the rector of the National Defense University, welcomed the guests and emphasized that the meetings organized within the framework of cooperation with NATO are effective for both sides. Azerbaijan's interest in expanding the current military cooperation with NATO was noted.
Expressing gratitude for the hospitality, Rear Admiral G. Brusdal stressed that the work carried out in various spheres of activity by the Azerbaijan Army positively impacted the field of military education. Highly appreciating the activities of the Azerbaijani Army service members within the framework of various NATO programs, the guest highlighted the successful continuation of Azerbaijan-NATO relations.
Then a briefing on the activities, structures, and responsibilities of the National Defense University and other military educational institutions functioning under it was presented to the guests.
In turn, the NATO delegation delivered presentations to the listeners regarding NATO's history and structure, as well as Azerbaijan-NATO relations.
NATO delegation visits one of the military units
On November 23, the representatives of NATO's Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe, visited one of the military units.
The delegation was given a briefing on Azerbaijan-NATO relations, the military unit’s activities, training centers, and the process of training military personnel.
Then representatives of NATO's Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe, delivered briefings on various topics.
In the end, the guests got acquainted with the service conditions created for service members and the combat equipment available in the arsenal of the military unit.
