On November 26, a coalition of 13 civil society groups issued a joint statement questioning recent claims that Mikheil Saakashvili's health had significantly deteriorated. The organizations said that Saakashvili's guests corroborated the rumors of his health deterioration and that the presidents of Georgia and other countries had also spoken on the matter.

According to the CSOs, the administration responded to the Georgian President's remarks that Saakashvili might be sent overseas if an acceptable assessment of his health could be made with political pronouncements. They stated that this runs counter to the government's pledges to uphold human rights in the nation.

When discussing Saakashvili's treatment, including his transfer abroad, the civil society organizations urged the government to rely on expert advice rather than the political context to prevent further aggravation of his health and the risks of infringement on his life.
