Aliyev, Erdoğan Reaffirm Azerbaijan-Türkiye Alliance
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met on September 1 in Bishkek, reaffirming the close political and strategic partnership between the two countries and exchanging views on regional developments.
The presidents described Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations as being rooted in brotherhood and strategic alliance and welcomed the continued expansion of ties across a broad range of areas. They stressed that the relationship is guided by the principle of “One nation, two states,” which remains a central element of political cooperation between Baku and Ankara.
Aliyev and Erdoğan also emphasized their longstanding support for each other in both favorable and difficult circumstances. The message reinforced the level of political solidarity between the two countries and their intention to maintain close coordination on matters of common interest.
Regional peace and stability formed another important part of the meeting. The two leaders exchanged perspectives on developments across the region and on steps that could contribute to stronger stability. They also considered the prospects for further strengthening their allied relations and addressed other issues of mutual interest.
The meeting underlined that Azerbaijan-Türkiye cooperation extends beyond bilateral ties, with Baku and Ankara continuing to coordinate closely on regional peace, stability, and their wider strategic agenda.
