Armenia And US Announce TRIPP Framework to Transform Transit, Trade, And Regional Connectivity

| News, Politics, Armenia

During a meeting in Washington on January 13, Ararat Mirzoyan met with Marco Rubio to discuss the Armenia–US strategic partnership. The officials reviewed progress in implementing the agreements from the August 8, 2025, Washington Peace Summit.

On January 14, both governments released a Joint Statement announcing the TRIPP Implementation Framework. The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) aims to establish unimpeded transit connectivity through Armenian territory, linking Azerbaijan’s main region with Nakhchivan. The framework emphasizes sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The TRIPP Development Company will develop infrastructure with a US controlling stake and Armenian oversight. Armenia will initially hold a 26% share, expected to increase to 49% over time. While private operators will handle customer-facing services, Armenian officials will maintain final authority over security and customs. All government data systems will remain under Armenian control.
