The Armenian government is allocating about $27 million to the unrecognised Nagorno-Karabakh for November.

"This is the fifth time such a decision has been made. As of July, 65 billion drams (about $137 million) have been allocated under the loan. The total amount has been increased by another 57 billion drams since July," Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan said at the latest government meeting.

According to him, this amount will be used to pay salaries and pensions, financial assistance for children, the distribution of subsidies to rural communities and compensation for gas, electricity, and communications.

Minister Khachatryan said that since September, Armenia has been allocating money not only for the solution of social issues but also for the implementation of economic programs. For example, solving housing problems, improving infrastructure, and developing agriculture.

"120 billion drams (about $253 million) has been allocated to Nagorno-Karabakh this year and 144 billion drams next year," said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Since the end of the 44-day war a year ago, the Armenian population in the Karabakh region has lived under the control of Russian peacekeepers stationed there and in the Lachin corridor.

Azerbaijan says there is no territory called Nagorno-Karabakh, while Armenia says the conflict is not over and the status of the region is waiting for a solution. In the summer of this year, the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic zones were established in Azerbaijan.
