Armenian Citizen Detained by Azerbaijan Along Border

On August 1, the Azerbaijani State Border Service reported that Armenian citizen Rashid Beglaryan, who violated the state border, was detained by the military personnel of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan in the part of the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border passing through the territory of Zabukh village of Lachin district.
The de-facto National Security Service of the separatist Nagorno-Karabakh stated that on August 1, a local resident, Rashid Beglaryan, left the village where he lived in a drunken state and went astray to the territory controlled by Azerbaijan. The de-facto authorities said they had promptly asked Russian peacekeepers to help secure his release.
Beglarian has lived in Khndzristan [Almaly in Azerbaijani], another Karabakh village several dozen kilometers east of Mets Shen/Boyuk Galaderesi, since the 2020 Armenian-Azerbaijani war.
