Azerbaijan Accuses Karabakh Armenians of Interfering GPS Navigation Systems of Passenger Planes

On July 15, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported that illegal Armenian armed groups in the territory of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily stationed, are using radio interference against the GPS satellite navigation systems of passenger planes of local and foreign airlines flying through the country's airspace.
According to the information of the Ministry of Defense, on July 13, a break in the GPS satellite navigation system occurred as a result of the application of radio interference against the Gulfstream G280 passenger plane belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines, which was flying on the Zangilan-Fuzuli and Fuzuli-Baku routes.
"We inform you that the fact of radio jamming against the GPS satellite navigation systems of passenger planes by illegal Armenian armed groups has been registered before. Despite our repeated appeals to the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent that such situations pose a serious threat to the safety of air flights, no measures have been taken," the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan said.
