Azerbaijan Increases Gas Export by 7%
On August 11, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan reported that during January-July 2023, 28.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced in Azerbaijan. Compared to the corresponding period of last year, gas production increased by 3.3 percent, i.e. by 0.9 billion cubic meters.
The information stated that gas sales abroad in the last seven months amounted to 13.8 billion cubic meters, which is 7 percent more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. In January-July of this year, 6.6 billion cubic meters of gas were sold to Europe, 5.8 billion cubic meters to Turkey, and 1.4 billion cubic meters to Georgia. During this period, 3.3 billion cubic meters of gas were transported to Turkey with TANAP.
From the commissioning of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shahdeniz fields to August 1, 211 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from ACG and 198 billion cubic meters from Shahdeniz. "In this period, about 139.9 billion cubic meters of gas produced from the Shah Deniz field was exported," the ministry said.
According to information, 17.7 million tons of oil (including condensate) were produced in the country in January-July 2023. "Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli" oil production accounted for 10.6 million tons, "Shahdeniz" for 2.6 million tons (condensate), and "Absheron" for 40.4 thousand tons (condensate). SOCAR's oil production (including condensate) amounted to 4.5 million tons.
The information said that 14.9 million tons of oil (including condensate) were transported for export in the last seven months. 13.2 million tons of it fell to the consortium and 1.7 million tons to SOCAR. From the commissioning of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and Shahdeniz fields to August 1, nearly 620.3 million tons of oil (including condensate) were produced. 577.5 million tons of oil were extracted from "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" and about 42.8 million tons of condensate from "Shahdeniz." By August 1, 2023, 618.4 million tons were transported for export.
Oil processing in the country for seven months of 2023 amounted to 3.7 million tons.
