Azerbaijan Reports Decline in Oil Production at BP Operated ACG Fields

On January 11, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan noted that oil production at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields operated by BP in Azerbaijan has decreased from 20.4 million tons in 2022 to 17.8 million tons in 2023.

The consortium of foreign companies producing oil and gas in Azerbaijan under the leadership of BP exported 22.1 million tons of oil last year, accounting for 87.7% of the country's total exports. 
Since the beginning of its operations in Azerbaijan, BP - the leading foreign oil and gas operator in Azerbaijan - has produced more than 627.4 million tons of oil and condensate, including 583.3 million tons of oil - at the ACG field. The Shah Deniz field produced 44.1 million tons of condensate.

Exports of oil and condensate produced by the consortium of foreign companies from the start of production until January 1, 2024 amounted to 629.2 million tons. BP's gas production from the Shah Deniz field in 2023 was 26.2 billion cubic meters and associated gas production from ACG was 12.9 billion cubic meters.
