Azerbaijan Responds to Pashinyan's Recent Remarks
On March 15, Aykhan Hajizada, the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, commented on the views expressed by the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the press conference held on March 14.
He said that the claims of the Prime Minister of Armenia are another blow to the establishment of peace in the region. In his opinion, Pashinyan's denial of forcibly evicting Azerbaijanis from their lands in the territory of Armenia indicates his intention to justify the policy of ethnic cleansing carried out by Armenia.
The Spokesperson of the Ministry believes that the Armenian leadership has denied the right of Azerbaijanis to return to their native lands in a safe and dignified manner: "The opposition of the West Azerbaijani Community to the Armenian leadership's call for dialogue in this direction, the presentation of the demand for these rights as a territorial claim of Armenia is an indicator of the policy."
He emphasized that it is unacceptable for the Prime Minister of Armenia to intervene in the issue of dialogue with Armenian residents again, to use expressions like the people and government of Karabakh. "It is an indication that Armenia is not interested in the peace agreement in the text of the peace agreement, that it opposes at all costs the provisions that exclude territorial claims against Azerbaijan, while hiding these non-constructive approaches, it comes up with ideas such as 'international mechanisms,' 'international guarantee institute' also stressed," Aykhan Hajizada added.
