Azerbaijani research institute plans to open Armenian language and literature center

The Center for Analysis of International Relations of Azerbaijan is planning to open a research department of Armenian studies, at which the Armenian language, literature and history will be studied, reported Rusarminfo.ru.

“We should comprehensively study Armenia, including its politics, economy, history, literature. We are also thinking of opening Armenian language courses in the center. There are a few specialists in Azerbaijan who know the Armenian language,” said the Chairman of the Board of the Center Farid Shafiyev.

According to Shafiev, a number of studies related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are being conducted, and the aim of organizing the Armenian Studies department is to “report to the world community the realities of the conflict”.

The Center for Analysis of International Relations was established in February 2019 under the order of the President Ilham Aliyev. The Center aims to enhance research into foreign policy directions, which are of importance to Azerbaijan’s national interests, improve the comprehensive analysis of the ongoing global processes and expand the scope of activities aimed at raising the international community’s awareness of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy priorities, particularly the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
