Azerbaijani Special Forces Exercise Continues along Border with Iran
On November 5, the next stage of the training of the military units of the Special Forces was carried out in the areas near the southern borders of Azerbaijan, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.
In the next stage of the training, adapted to real combat conditions, the special forces performed various reconnaissance tasks using the protection features of the area and camouflage means.
"According to the scenario, the command-and-control stations and communication centers of the conventional enemy have been disabled, as well as the manpower hidden in the infrastructure facilities in the residential areas, which has been neutralized. In training, the obstacles that the group may encounter on the battlefield were overcome in the form of mobile groups, and a sudden fire attack on conventional targets was carried out. The tasks set in the training of the military units of the Special Forces have been completed," the information concluded.
The military exercises of the Special Forces of Azerbaijan in the southern areas of the country bordering Iran occur two weeks after the military activities of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the border with Azerbaijan. Thus, starting from October 17, the ground forces of IRGC conducted military exercises in the Araz region, located in the north of Iran's East Azerbaijan and Ardabil provinces.
Earlier, on November 2, Caucasus Watch reported that Azerbaijan started military exercises near its southern borders, the Press Office of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported. According to the information, the training plan conducted by Hikmet Mirzayev, the Special Forces commander, the military units were raised with the alarm signal.
