Azerbaijani State Security Service Appeals to the Armenian Population of Nagorno-Karabakh

On September 25, the State Security Service of Azerbaijan appealed to the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.

"As it is known, on September 19-20 this year, anti-terrorist actions of a local nature were carried out in order to stop terrorist and sabotage acts of illegal Armenian armed groups in the territories of Azerbaijan under the temporary control of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, to disarm them, and as a result the terrorist groups were forced to surrender. The relevant persons who, as members of an illegal organized armed group, were suspected of committing acts of terrorism and sabotage by planting mines on the newly constructed tunnel road in the territory of Tagaverd village of Khojavand district and on the 58th kilometer of the Ahmadbeyli-Fuzuli-Shusha road on September 19, 2023, which resulted in the death of two civilians and four policemen, were disarmed and detained within the framework of the aforementioned anti-terrorist operations," the report added.

"Addressing the Armenian residents of the Karabakh region, the State Security Service appeals to the population of the Karabakh region and urges them to refrain from actions that threaten the overall development of the regions included in the Karabakh economic zone of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the well-being of the Armenian population, their peaceful reintegration into the Azerbaijani society, the resolution of social and humanitarian issues, the protection of the rule of law, stability and public security, as well as the destruction of property, documents and similar illegal actions, and to surrender their weapons as soon as possible," it added.

"Full protection of the rights and freedoms of persons of Armenian nationality who have handed over weapons and meet the requirements of the relevant legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan will be provided," the service concluded.
