Armenia
Non-Combat Incident
On February 17, the Armenian Ministry of Defense reported the discovery of the body of soldier Sevak Vardani Hovhannisyan, found with a gunshot wound. An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances. The Ministry expressed condolences to the soldier’s family and friends.
Armenian Military Police Collects Weapons and Ammunition
On February 17, the Armenian Military Police received 20 grenades, 650+ bullets of various calibers, and an "օր-ան ական" artillery piece from civilians in the Kapan region following an awareness campaign. The Ministry of Defense urged citizens to continue surrendering illegal weapons to avoid criminal liability.
Armenian Delegation Participates in IDEX-2025 in Abu Dhabi
On February 18, Deputy Minister of Defense Karen Brutyan led an Armenian delegation at the IDEX-2025 military-technical exhibition in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Armenia showcased its defense industry in a dedicated pavilion and held meetings with international partners to discuss ongoing and potential defense cooperation.
NATO Delegation Conducts Training in Armenia
From February 17-21, NATO officials visited Armenia for the first phase of the Partner Capacity Coherence Initiative 2025. The training aimed to strengthen Armenia-NATO cooperation, with representatives from NATO member and partner states in attendance.

Azerbaijan Holds NATO Course on Legal Aspects of Military Operations
On February 18, Azerbaijan hosted the “Legal Aspects of Military Operations” course in Baku as part of its 2025 Individual Partnership Cooperation Programme with NATO. The course, conducted by NATO's Mobile Training Team from Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum, covered international humanitarian law, military targeting laws, civilian protection, and legal frameworks for peacekeeping operations.
Azerbaijan Participates in IDEX and NAVDEX in Abu Dhabi
On February 19, Azerbaijani Deputy Defense Minister Agil Gurbanov led a delegation to IDEX-2025 and NAVDEX-2025 in Abu Dhabi. Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense Industry showcased military technology at its exhibition booth. Gurbanov held meetings with defense officials from Turkey, Slovakia, Kazakhstan, Italy, and other countries to discuss military cooperation.
Pakistani Navy Delegation Visits Azerbaijan
On February 20, Commodore Ehsan Ahmed Khan of Pakistan's Navy War College led a delegation to Azerbaijan. The group visited the National Defense University and paid tribute at the Alley of Shehids. They also toured the Azerbaijan Military History Museum, where they learned about Azerbaijan’s military history and the country’s victory in the Second Karabakh War.
Foreign Military Attachés Visit Azerbaijan’s Aviation Repair Plant
On February 21, Azerbaijan hosted 22 military attachés from 17 countries for a familiarization visit to its Air Force Aviation Repair Plant. The visitors were briefed on the plant’s history, modernization efforts, and ongoing military aviation projects. Military officials highlighted Azerbaijan’s commitment to enhancing international cooperation in defense technology.
Georgia
Defense Minister Hosts Parliamentarians for Military Reform Briefing
On February 19, Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani and Defense Forces Commander Major General Giorgi Matiashvili briefed members of parliament on military reforms. The discussion focused on the new National Military Conscription and Recruitment Agency, which will require conscripts to serve exclusively in the Defense Forces starting in January 2025. Lawmakers praised the reforms and highlighted their close cooperation with the Ministry of Defense.
Georgian President Visits Eastern Command Brigades
On February 21, President Mikheil Kavelashvili visited the 4th Infantry and 5th Artillery Brigades of the Eastern Command. Accompanied by Defense Minister Chikovani and military leadership, he met with troops and assessed their living and working conditions. The President toured barracks, simulation classrooms, and other facilities, emphasizing Georgia’s commitment to strengthening its armed forces.
