
Chechnya Announces Cabinet Changes, Kadyrov's Son Gets Sports Ministry

On May 22, Chechen head Ramzan Kadyrov announced personnel changes in the republic's leadership. During a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Isa Tumkhadzhiev, the acting Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic, revealed the new appointments.
Akhmat Kadyrov has been appointed Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Chechen Republic, replacing Isa Ibragimov. Ibragimov has been transferred to the position of Deputy Head of the Administration of the Head and Government of the Chechen Republic. Ramzan Vismuradov will now head the Ministry of Youth Affairs. Temirlan Huchiev has also been appointed Minister of Industry and Energy of the Chechen Republic.
Kadyrov also mentioned that Khoza Bursagov and Albert Rabuev have been recommended for the posts of heads of the Achkhoi-Martanovsky and Itum-Kalinsky districts, respectively. They will assume their duties following the approval procedure.
Notably, Ramzan Kadyrov's eldest son, Akhmat Kadyrov, who will turn 19 in November, was previously the Minister of Youth Affairs.
