| News, Armenia

The Ministry of Economy of Armenia discussed the issue of exporting the Sputnik Light vaccine produced in Armenia, Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said during the discussion of the draft state budget for 2022 at the joint session of the Standing Committees on European Integration and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.

"As a result of close cooperation, we already have the final approved "Sputnik Light" vaccine produced in Armenia with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Russian Direct Investment Fund. We are discussing the financial conditions for the export of this vaccine and its use in Armenia," Kerobyan said.

Back in September 2021, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia and the leading Armenian pharmaceutical company “Liqvor” announced the production of the first batches of the Russian single-component Covid-19 vaccine "Sputnik Light."

Foreign ministry works on launch of Armenia-EU visa liberalisation dialogue

Deputy Foreign Minister Vahe Gevorgyan said at a joint session of the parliamentary standing committees dedicated to the proposed state budget for 2022 that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is carrying out work on the Armenia-EU visa liberalisation conversation.

He noted that Armenia's numerous authorities work closely with the European Union on a regular basis.

As for the launch of the dialogue on the visa liberalisation, the deputy FM said: “The foreign ministry carries out targeted works on this matter with both the EU agencies and its member states. Of course, coronavirus doesn’t contribute to the finalisation of the agreements about that launch. I think we also have some ‘homework’ on this matter, to ensure that launch as soon as possible,” he said.
