Future US Ambassador to Russia Promises to Keep Situation in Armenia in Spotlight

On September 28, Lynne M. Tracy, the US Ambassador to Armenia, who previously visited the border Syunik region and met with Robert Ghukasyan, the Governor of the Southeastern Region of Armenia, stated that the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan is at the center of the attention of the United States, despite the armed confrontations taking place in other regions of the world.
During the meeting, the diplomat, who is completing her mission in Armenia, said that she understands how difficult it is to feel safe now for the residents of Syunik and other border regions of the country.
The diplomat stressed that Washington is doing everything to prevent the use of force through diplomatic channels, ensure the duration of negotiations and achieve a long-term settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
The head of the American diplomatic mission stated that the situation in Syunik and Armenia will always be at the center of her attention. She will do her best to strengthen peace in the South Caucasus, wherever she is on a diplomatic mission.
Lynne Tracy visited the Syunik region several times during her stay in Armenia as the US Ambassador (since February 2019).
