Hakan Fidan Praises Positive Regional Outlook After Armenia-Azerbaijan Agreements
On August 28, Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, stated that the agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the agreement between Azerbaijan and the US, had created a very positive picture for the region. Fidan noted that the Azerbaijani side had held consultations with Türkiye regarding the Washington meeting and the agreements.
He emphasized that Türkiye’s position on the Zangezur Corridor was based on mutual trust and underlined the close cooperation with Azerbaijan on this issue. "There is nothing concrete on the Zangezur Corridor. The parties will discuss what will happen and how the situation will develop. Our position is based on trust. We trust our Azerbaijani brothers," he stated. The Turkish Foreign Minister also highly appreciated the position of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the matter.
