Head of The Tabriz Chamber of Commerce: Trade Capacities Between Armenia and Iran Were Neglected
The head of the Iranian Tabriz Chamber of Commerce commended Armenia's trade capacities and blasted the disregard for the private sector's trading capabilities with Armenia, the Armenian Public TV broadcaster reported, referring to the tahlilbazaar.com.
According to the Bazar reporter, in a meeting with the Consul General of Iran in Armenia’s southernmost city of Kapan, Younes Zhaeleh, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Tabriz, praised the commercial capacities of Armenia and said: “Unfortunately, many of these commercial capacities have been neglected, which should be compared to try to increase these business connections.”
He emphasized the opening of an Iranian store in Kapan, saying that it might serve as a kind of permanent regional exhibition for the goods produced in the region.
The import of meat from Armenia is another area of bilateral cooperation cited by the head of the Tabriz Chamber of Commerce.
The Iranian Consul General in Kapan, Morteza Abedin Varamin, referred to Kapan as a significant and unique Armenian city and stated: “Efforts should be made to preserve trade and create a special position in the market of this country.”
He also proposed to create an exhibition of Iranian products, especially of Iran’s East Azerbaijan province in Kapan city.
Iran opened a consulate general in Kapan, located in the southern Armenian region of Syunik, in October 2022.
