Ilham Aliyev and Masoud Pezeshkian Discuss Development of Bilateral Relations
On June 4, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan held a telephone conversation with President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran, during which they exchanged Eid al-Adha greetings and discussed the development of bilateral relations.
The Iranian president congratulated Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on the upcoming sacred holiday, wishing them prosperity and progress. In response, President Aliyev congratulated Pezeshkian and the people of Iran, expressing his best wishes for their prosperity and progress.
Pezeshkian recalled his official visit to Azerbaijan, including the productive meetings and discussions with President Aliyev, who expressed high appreciation for the talks.
They noted that relevant state bodies of both countries are working to implement the tasks outlined during Pezeshkian’s visit. The resumption of the Baku–Tabriz flight and the increase in Baku–Tehran flights were highlighted as steps to enhance people-to-people contacts.
The presidents emphasized that Azerbaijani-Iranian relations are at a turning point and expressed optimism that bilateral ties will continue to develop dynamically across various fields through joint efforts. They also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
