Ingushetia and Kalmykia entered the "red zone" laid out by the report of the Russian Ministry of Finance
The Ingushetia and Kalmykia Federal Republics were among the 17 subjects with low-quality financial management. They took sixth and seventh places and fell within the "red zone".
Ingushetia and Kalmykia have violated the terms of agreements on the provision of budget loans to the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
The rest of the regions in southern Russia and the North Caucasus are classified in the agency's report as subjects with an appropriate and high level of financial management.
In July, the Ingushetia Federal Republic ranked second in the country in terms of the share of residents whose income is below the subsistence level - according to official data, this figure pertains to almost 28% of the republic's residents. Next to the North Caucasus Federal District are Karachay-Cherkessia (22%), Kabardino-Balkaria (16%), Chechnya (almost 16%), Stavropol Territory and North Ossetia (14% each) as well as Dagestan (13%).
In March, the subjects of the North Caucasus were at the bottom of the ranking in terms of wages in small and medium-sized settlements. The last two places were taken by Chechnya and Kabardino-Balkaria.
Four republics of the North Caucasus Federal District were at the bottom of the ranking of the socio-economic situation of the regions at the end of 2020. Kabardino-Balkaria took the 77th place in the rating, same as last year. Ingushetia was in 79th place, moving up three ranks. Next comes North Ossetia (80th place), dropping two spaces in the ranking. The 81st place, like last year, is occupied by Karachay-Cherkessia.
