During a meeting with representatives of the Iranian airline Private joint stock company Pars Golden Sky, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, the chairman of the government of Dagestan, said that trade turnover between Iran and Dagestan increased by 44% over the year.

He stressed that in the context of large-scale sanctions from unfriendly countries and difficulties with the supply of imported products, the trade turnover between the Federal Republic of Dagestan and the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2022 increased by 44% compared to 2021, exports more than doubled, and imports decreased by 3%.

"I am sure that we have every opportunity to build up bilateral trade and economic ties further and expand the range of products supplied, including by improving transport links between our parties," the report added.

Moreover, on April 26, the prospects for creating an aviation hub in the republic were discussed during a meeting between Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov and the representatives of Pars Golden Sky.

The Iranian side proposed the opening of an aviation hub in Dagestan, including the creation of an enterprise for the repair of aircraft and spare parts and the organization of a cargo hub. Iran considers Dagestan as a region for creating this facility in the Russian Federation due to its territorial proximity.

"The implementation of the project will increase the number of international flights and destinations available to passengers, cargo flights, give an additional impetus to the development of tourism, create new jobs, attract new investments to the region and organize affordable air cargo transportation," the message added.

The company is ready to provide certified personnel, equipment, and a management system to create this maintenance organization.
