
Israeli President Highlights Close Cooperation Between Israel and Azerbaijan

On May 27, President of Israel Isaac Herzog congratulated Azerbaijan on its Independence Day, emphasizing the close cooperation between the two countries in areas such as security, innovation, energy, trade, and tourism.
In a video message, Herzog extended greetings on behalf of the people and State of Israel, highlighting the centuries-old historical ties between the Azerbaijani and Jewish peoples. He praised Azerbaijan’s tradition of multiculturalism, describing it as a symbol of tolerance, diversity, and peaceful coexistence among various cultures and religions.
Herzog credited Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for strengthening bilateral relations and noted Azerbaijan’s significant development under Aliyev’s leadership. He reaffirmed both nations’ commitment to expanding cooperation and expressed confidence in Azerbaijan’s continued progress and growing importance as a regional and diplomatic crossroads.
The Israeli president concluded by thanking Azerbaijan for its support during the recent Eurovision Song Contest, describing the solidarity shown by the Azerbaijani jury and public as a deeply moving gesture.
