On August 1, Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia, stated at an event marking the 11th anniversary of the establishment of the State Security Service of Georgia that the institution plays a key role in protecting the country’s constitutional order, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens. Kobakhidze emphasized that peace and stability remain the main foundation for Georgia’s democratic and economic development, noting that these achievements are closely linked to the daily efforts of the State Security Service employees. He paid tribute to officers who lost their lives while carrying out their duties and highlighted the risks faced by those responsible for maintaining national security. "Standing on the guard of peace is daily associated with high risk. I pay tribute to the memory of the heroic officers who perished while performing their official duties," Kobakhidze stated.

The Prime Minister noted that amid the current global geopolitical challenges and regional security threats, attempts by foreign special services and destructive forces to destabilize Georgia and forcibly change the government had been prevented. However, he stressed that existing threats remain, particularly the occupation of Georgia’s territories. Kobakhidze stated that one of the government’s main priorities is responding to harmful activities along the occupation line and protecting the fundamental rights of citizens living in the occupied territories.

He also highlighted progress in combating terrorism, saying that preventive measures implemented by the State Security Service had helped prevent numerous potential threats. According to him, countering corruption is also an essential component of national security. "The results of active work in this direction are seen by our society every day. In the future as well we will be uncompromising toward any form of corruption crime and everyone will be held strictly accountable before the law," Kobakhidze stated.

The Prime Minister praised the contribution of the State Security Service employees to these achievements and said that improving their working conditions remains a priority for the Georgian government. He noted that salaries had been increased, working conditions improved, and social protection guarantees strengthened. Kobakhidze thanked Geka Geladze, the Head of the State Security Service, its leadership, and all employees, emphasizing that their "patriotism, dignity, and professionalism ensure the safe future of our children." He also congratulated the personnel on their professional day and reaffirmed the government’s full support for the service.
