Mirzoyan Promotes Armenia’s Global Vision in UAE, China, and SCO Talks
On June 25, Ararat Mirzoyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, held a phone conversation with Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, to discuss regional security and peace efforts in the South Caucasus and the Middle East, according to the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
During the call, the two ministers exchanged views on regional stability and the development of friendly relations between Armenia and the UAE, alongside cooperation within international organizations.
On June 26, while on an official visit to China, Ararat Mirzoyan met with Wang Yi, the Member of the State Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China. Both ministers delivered opening remarks before holding discussions that covered a broad range of issues, including bilateral ties, regional affairs, and international cooperation. They expressed satisfaction with progress in various sectors and reiterated their political will to build a broader strategic partnership, encompassing high-level political dialogue, infrastructure, economic projects, and humanitarian initiatives.
The meeting also addressed upcoming high-level engagements and collaboration within international platforms. Mirzoyan presented Armenia’s balanced and diversified foreign policy strategy and expressed Armenia’s interest in expanding engagement within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Both sides noted the alignment between China’s "One Belt, One Road" initiative and Armenia’s "Crossroads of Peace" project, emphasizing the South Caucasus’ potential as a transit bridge between Asia and Europe.
Mirzoyan outlined Armenia’s vision for establishing peace in the South Caucasus and commended China’s principled stance on peace efforts grounded in respect for territorial integrity. He further briefed Wang Yi on the latest developments in negotiations over a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
On June 27, within the framework of his Beijing visit, Ararat Mirzoyan held talks with Nurlan Yermekbayev, the Secretary-General of the SCO. The two officials reviewed the progress of Armenia-SCO cooperation and expressed satisfaction with the active dialogue and tangible outcomes achieved since Armenia attained partner country status.
Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia’s intention to deepen its engagement with the organization and highlighted that Armenia’s peace policy in the South Caucasus adhered to fundamental SCO principles, including respect for territorial integrity and inviolability of borders. Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing regional connectivity and strengthening economic ties. In this context, Mirzoyan presented Armenia’s "Crossroads of Peace" initiative, noting the positive responses it had already received from several SCO member states.
