Multiple Drones Shot Down Across North Caucasus
On December 9, a drone attack was repelled in Chechnya. During the incident, Ramzan Kadyrov, the Head of Chechnya, stated that two UAVs had been destroyed by mobile fire units of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian National Guard over the territory of the republic. He also published footage showing the destruction of what he described as a "Nazi drone" in the Grozny district.
Kadyrov emphasized that "the counteraction to Ukronat terrorist threats is well-organized and effective," adding that cooperation among the agencies responsible for protecting the population worked at an excellent level.
The Ministry of Defense reported that another UAV had been shot down over neighboring North Ossetia by air defense units of the Russian Aerospace Forces. According to authorities, five drones in total were downed across the North Caucasus on December 9. One UAV was intercepted between 9:00 and 14:00 Moscow time over the territories of Stavropol Krai, Kabardino-Balkaria, the Chechen Federal Republic, Ingushetia, and North Ossetia.
