Pashinyan and EU Representative Discuss Closer Armenia-EU Integration
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with Magdalena Grono, the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, the PM press office reports.
Pashinyan congratulated Grono on her new role and expressed optimism about her efforts to strengthen Armenia-EU cooperation. He highlighted his government’s recent approval of a draft law initiating Armenia’s accession process to the European Union. Referring to his 2023 speech at the European Parliament, the Prime Minister reiterated Armenia’s readiness to align as closely with the EU as possible.
Grono thanked Pashinyan for the reception and emphasized the EU's commitment to expanding cooperation with Armenia, including fostering democratic institutions and supporting reforms.
Discussions during the meeting also covered the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, security and stability in the South Caucasus, and Armenia’s “Crossroads of Peace” project aimed at regional development and cooperation.
