Ramzan Kadyrov Brings Regulations to Wedding Celebrations
On August 28, Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, said that the religious leaders and the Ministry of National Policy will soon be engaged in bringing the regulations for wedding celebrations to the people of Chechnya.
"Recently, we discussed with the regional muftiate [administrative territorial entity under the supervision of a religious leader] and the Ministry of Culture the problem of wedding innovations that contradict generally accepted norms and create difficulties in the conclusion of marriages. Today, during the meeting, dear brother Mufti of the Chechen [Federal] Republic Salakh-Khadji Mezhiyev presented me with a list of recommendations to solve the problem. The religious leaders of the federal republic and the Ministry of Culture of Chechnya, under the leadership of Aishat Kadyrova, took part in the development of the document. Competent work was carried out. As a result of the discussion, we decided to make minor amendments to the document. This will make it possible to exclude ambiguous interpretations by a certain group of citizens," Kadyrov said.
According to him, religious leaders will carry out a detailed explanation of the established norms at the venue of the marriage ceremony.
"I will only say that the list of requirements and recommendations excludes all innovations, excessive expenses, other excesses, and complications in organizing wedding celebrations. Earlier, almost every resident was very enthusiastic about the news that the authorities have thoroughly taken up this issue. I am sure that now people will take the recommendations given in the list very responsibly. Just as in the case of eliminating the practice of bride kidnapping, we must be extremely resolute in this matter as well," the Chechen leader said.
