Ramzan Kadyrov: Tackling Health Rumors and Affirming Chechnya's Loyalty to Russia

On December 13, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, answered a question about his health during his annual live broadcast. He said that he felt fine, and when he needed to take care of his health, he took a vacation.

"There are people who want to eradicate humanity in this world. Intentionally spread lies about my health. They say outright lies. I don't even let my children know when I'm sick. As long as I'm alive and healthy," Kadyrov said.

Ramzan Kadyrov said that Chechnya can provide Palestinian refugees with housing, medical care, jobs, and places in schools and kindergartens. "Of course, the Chechen [Federal] Republic will cope with such a task. If people have come to us, given our mentality, we cannot treat them differently, our customs and traditions do not allow us to. That is why we are always happy to receive guests, even when we are cramped. That is why we will create all conditions both for them and our republic's citizens," Kadyrov said.

Moreover, Chechen head Ramzan Kadyrov said that having four wives means happiness. "Two wives" means that you are a real man of the house, three wives are good, and four are happiness. This is what our prophet Muhammad said," Kadyrov said. The Chechen leader admitted that he loves this life and beautiful women but remains a deeply religious man.

Also, the Chechen head believes that the "special military operation" in Ukraine will end next spring. "I don't think there is a risk of a nuclear threat. And the special military operation will end next year, I think. Kyiv has exhausted all its resources, there are not enough people, there are problems with weapons," Kadyrov said. Kadyrov claims that the "special military operation" would have been finished in three months if he had been making the decisions. "We will not put ourselves on the same level as Israel. Our president has set a task not to destroy Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. We could have taken Kyiv a long time ago. It would have been easier to take it than Mariupol. Putin has no interest in destroying another state; he only wants to protect his people. We will not let Western countries enter our territory through Ukraine," Kadyrov stated.

Furthermore, during his annual live broadcast, Kadyrov commented on fears that the [federal] republic is planning to secede from Russia. "The society of the Russian Federation realized long ago that we are also citizens of Russia. We are in the interests of our country. Besides, we have exceeded the plan to mobilize volunteers, unlike other regions," the head of the Chechen [Federal] Republic said.

The question raised during the live broadcast concerned the establishment of battalions and regiments within the region, suggesting that these forces were created to facilitate separation from Russia. "These battalions, regiments are not under my subordination. They are under the subordination of the Ministry of Defense, the Rossguard. They fulfill the task set by the supreme commander-in-chief," he emphasized. "My choice and the choice of my people is to be part of Russia. We have held two referendums. And in both Chechen assemblies, the people voted to be part of the country. My close people gave their lives for this," Kadyrov stated.
