Fighters deployed to Ukraine from separatist South Ossetia

Fighters from Russia's 58th army's 4th military camp in South Ossetia have been sent to Ukraine. Eyewitnesses saw big military vehicles with Russian and South Ossetian flags heading out of the republic towards the Russian-South Ossetian border.

Russian military personnel, including contract soldiers from South Ossetia, were escorted by Ossetian heroic songs, national flags, prayers, and wishes of the patronage of the Almighty and most revered in Ossetia, Saint Uastirdzhi – the patron warriors and travellers in Ossetia, on the streets of Tskhinvali, on the way to the Roksky tunnel, and on Russian territory.

Volunteers from South Ossetia took part in military activities on the Donbass side in eastern Ukraine. With the launch of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, volunteers from Tskhinvali were once again lured to the battleground areas.

So far, three of them have been identified as having perished. Because the military activities with Georgia are still fresh in South Ossetia's mind, the republic sympathises with and shares the pain of their loved ones. As a result, many people of Tskhinvali are particularly affected by the events in Ukraine.

South Ossetian politicians lend moral support to Ossetian volunteers and Russian military. As a result, Eduard Kokoity, the former president of South Ossetia, appealed for unity among South Ossetians and encouraged people to pray for the combatants.

Refugees return from separatist Abkhazia to separatist Donbass

Refugees from the de facto Luhansk People's Republic, who were received in the Aitar boarding house in Sukhumi, are already ready to return home. The situation in the republic has become more or less stable, they explained.

37 people went to Donbass. 34 people were sent to the LNR, three to the DNR.

“Citizens of both republics will be delivered to the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsk, Rostov Region, on the fast train Sukhumi-Moscow. And from there, on specially organised buses, they will go to the places of permanent residence,” the de-facto Ministry of Emergency Situations of Abkhazia reports.

According to the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Lev Kvitsiniya, the leadership of Abkhazia purchased the tickets for the guests.

To date, 90 people remain in Abkhazia, evacuated by the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations from the war zone in Donbas. The first group of refugees arrived in the republic on February 24.

A concert was held in separatist Abkhazia in honour of the reunification of Crimea with Russia

A concert was held in Sukhumi in honour of the eighth anniversary of "the reunification of Crimea with Russia" and in support of the "Russian special operation in Ukraine".

“Dear friends, today we are celebrating a significant date - the reunification of Russia with Crimea. This event is a celebration of historical justice, comparable to the recognition of the independence and state sovereignty of the Republic of Abkhazia. Crimea in 1954, just like Abkhazia, was illegally incorporated into another republic. Thank God, the events of 2014 in Crimea were without casualties, this is the merit of the Crimeans themselves, and most importantly of Russia, which came to their aid at a critical moment when the future of the peninsula and its people was being determined,” said Russia’s charge d’affaires in the republic Maxim Litvinov.
