Russian Official Comments on Georgian Authorities and Western Influence
On August 28, Vladimir Dzhabarov, a Member of the Federation Council of Russia, stated that the current Georgian authorities, unlike the supporters of Mikheil Saakashvili, were not ready to sacrifice their people for the interests of the West.
Commenting on the remarks of Tbilisi Mayor and Georgian Dream Secretary General Kakha Kaladze, Dzhabarov recalled that the founder of the Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, had already spoken about the plans of Western intelligence services to destabilize Georgia to open a second front against Russia. He noted that Kaladze had now confirmed these claims.
Dzhabarov emphasized that the presence of former football players among Georgia’s top leaders attracted attention. "These are Kakha Kaladze and current Prime Minister Mikheil Kavelashvili. They are an example of how athletes can successfully enter politics. And how this contrasts with the situation in Ukraine, where a once good comedian, having become president, has finally turned the country into a puppet of the West. And the inimitable Andriy Shevchenko, as the head of the local football association, is disowning Kaladze, his teammate at Milan and Dynamo Kyiv, to please Zelensky," he stated.
