On 29 September, Deputy Defence Minister Arman Sargsyan said that the servicemen of the already dissolved [separatist] Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Army could continue their service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.

"It would be desirable for us if the servicemen of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army would join the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, because they are our compatriots and with their experience and military knowledge they can be of use to the country's armed forces," the deputy head of the military body noted.

"The Armenian Defence Ministry is currently studying the situation, and all Karabakh servicemen who wish to join the Armenian Armed Forces will have such an opportunity," Sargsyan said.

It should be noted that, according to the latest data, more than 100 thousand people from Stepanakert/Khankendi have arrived on the territory of Armenia.
