US Energy Secretary Highlights US-Azerbaijan Agreement Creating Energy Opportunities
On September 24, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated that the bilateral agreement signed between the United States and Azerbaijan in Washington had created not only a political and strategic partnership but also new energy sector opportunities. Wright emphasized that "Azerbaijan has vast energy reserves" and noted the possibility of delivering more natural gas from the country to Europe through the southern corridor, which could also connect Armenia and Azerbaijan. He underlined the importance of this development and added that expanding Azerbaijan’s energy resources to global markets, particularly European and Western markets bypassing Russia, opens broad prospects for future cooperation between the two countries.
