US State Department: "Declaration Signed by Azerbaijan and Armenia Is Very Important for President Trump"
On August 13, US State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce emphasized that the declaration signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia was very important to the American President. During a briefing, Bruce stated that while she would not speculate on possible US measures to prevent interference from Iran or Russia, "the world knows to take President Trump seriously."
She stressed that the agreement "matters to this administration" and to the world, as the conflict had caused countless casualties for over 35 years. Bruce highlighted that while others had tried and failed, "only President Trump was able to successfully bring… these two countries together to agree to this historic peace." She explained that the agreements would unlock significant economic potential in the South Caucasus, creating opportunities for Americans and American companies in trade, transit, energy, and technology.
