Vahan Kostanyan Visits Iran to Discuss Washington Meeting
On August 12–13, Vahan Kostanyan, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, visited the Islamic Republic of Iran for a series of high-level meetings. He met with Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Foreign Policy Advisor to the Supreme Leader Kamal Kharrazi, and other senior officials.
During the meetings, Kostanyan emphasized that Armenia highly values Iran’s consistent stance on the unconditional respect for Armenia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and inviolability of borders. He also commended Iran’s support for the initialing of the peace agreement with Azerbaijan. Kostanyan stressed that the unblocking of regional economic infrastructures would proceed with full respect for the principles of sovereignty, jurisdiction, and reciprocity, in line with the spirit of the Washington declaration. In a constructive atmosphere, both sides agreed to maintain continuous dialogue.
