| News, Azerbaijan, Georgia

Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia will create a joint venture to develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).

This was announced at a meeting of the Operational Headquarters for anti-crisis measures, where the results of the negotiations on the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route and issues of transportation of Kazakhstani cargo were considered.

Negotiations were held between representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia to ensure the transportation of Kazakh and transit cargo.

In order to develop the TITR route, the parties agreed to establish a joint venture that will address issues of tariff setting, cargo declaration, the use of unified IT solutions, and the consolidation of transit cargo.

In general, the route could transport up to 10 million tons of cargo per year, including up to 200,000 containers.

As for the current route through the port of Lianyungang (PRC), the issue of reducing the tariff for transit cargo transportation is being worked out. As a result of the joint work of state bodies and business, there is currently no idle time of Kazakh cargo at the border with China, the government of Kazakhstan said in a statement.
