According to the results of January-November 2022, almost 162,000 residents left the republics of the North Caucasus and the Stavropol Territory, and the migration loss has tripled over the year, Rosstat's data claims.

Over the eleven months of 2021, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, and the Stavropol Territory experienced an increase in migration - the number of arrivals in the regions exceeded the number of those who left them. According to the results of the same period in 2022, a decrease was recorded in all regions of the North Caucasus except for Ingushetia.

The highest absolute indicator of migration loss is in Chechnya, where there were 4,013 more people who left than those who settled in the republic. This is almost twice as much as the figure for the year before last. It is noteworthy that international migration has also grown sharply: 1,196 residents of Chechnya left the country against 329 in 2021. Most of them (1063) relocated to the CIS countries, which include Kazakhstan and Armenia - one of the key directions of the emigration of Russians in 2022.

The migration loss has increased significantly in Kabardino-Balkaria - if, in 2021, the number of arrivals in the republic exceeded the number of those who left by 147. In January-November 2022, they were 2,267 people less. If the year before last, the migration increases in North Ossetia amounted to 70 people, then last year it was minus 351 residents.
