Alexander Lukashenko on Trump Route: "Iranians Do Not Really Like It, But No One Will Be Able to Resist"
On August 22, Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, stated that he congratulated US President Donald Trump on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement. "Still, this is a big plus. I told him, ‘Well done for finding an opportunity to sit down at the negotiating table and sign such an agreement with the Armenians and Azerbaijanis.’ And I know what this Zangezur corridor is. It was essential to connect with Azerbaijan. They stood up and said that they would practically be the owners of it all and would control it. This is a great thing," he added.
"Of course, the Iranians don't really like it, since it is on the border with Iran. But no one will be able to resist this. This is a peace agreement; they will help build this corridor through Armenian territory, and Azerbaijan will be connected to its region not only by air. He deserved it, and I congratulated him," Lukashenko noted.
