Aliyev and Pashinyan to Meet in Brussels on May 14

On May 8, "The Financial Times" newspaper wrote that the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia will resume peace talks in Brussels this weekend.
The information said that Charles Michel, the President of the Council of the European Union, would host a meeting between Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, and Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia.
However, there is no statement from Azerbaijan and Armenia that such a meeting will be held.
On May 8, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Netherlands wrote on its Twitter account that the meeting will take place on May 14.
Notably, before that, it was announced that the next meeting between the parties would be held in Russia. According to one of the officials who did not want to reveal their name, on June 1, the three leaders have plans to meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron within the framework of the European Political Community summit in Moldova. Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Armenian Security Council, confirmed this information on May 9.
Aliyev and Pashinyan last met in February in Munich. Last week, the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia met in Washington. In his statement after the meeting, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken noted that the parties had made significant progress on difficult issues.
