Armenia Reveals Death Toll in Azerbaijan's September Operation

In an interview with Armenian Public Television on January 4, Chairman of the Armenian Investigative Committee Argishti Karamyan said that during the military operation carried out by Azerbaijan in Karabakh in September last year, 223 Armenian soldiers and 25 civilians were killed.

"244 people were injured, 10 of them minors, and about 80 civilians," Karamyan said. According to him, currently, 20 people are considered missing, five of them civilians. According to Karamyan, about 70 deaths were recorded on the roads and in Armenia as a result of the psychological stress caused by the deportation from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia. According to him, 23 Armenian prisoners are currently being held in Azerbaijan, but there are actual reports that 32 people are missing after the 44-day war. Karamyan also said that 218 people died and 120 people were injured as a result of the explosion at the gas depot in Karabakh.

Notably, the Azerbaijani side announced that 192 servicemen and one civilian were killed, including 511 servicemen and one civilian injured during the military operation carried out on September 19-20.
