Armenian official on the so called ‘Zangazur corridor’
Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan said that "there can be no corridor of another sovereign country" in the sovereign territory of the republic. He pointed out that it was "illogical" to talk about the corridor.
In an interview with AzTV in April this year, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that they would "implement" the Zangazur corridor. "Whether Armenia wants it or not, if they want to, we will solve it the easy way, if we do not want to, we will solve it by force," Ilham Aliyev said.
According to Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan, the November 10 statement signed between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia was the basis for stabilization in the region, but "failed to fully resolve" the problems.
He noted that neither the November 10 nor the January 11 statement mentioned the corridor, so "these discussions are inappropriate."
The Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia said that the opening of the blockade "means that all roads will be opened and the region will be able to get out of the blockade."
"By the way, we will also use the territory of Azerbaijan to communicate with Russia, and it is illogical to talk about the corridor here. If Azerbaijan talks about the logic of the corridor, if there is such a discussion of the corridor, it is clear that we will have a corridor," he said.
