Azerbaijan has expanded its Air Defense infrastructure with nearly 20 new military facilities across various regions of the country, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the operational readiness of its armed forces. 

According to the Ministry of Defense, the new facilities are designed to support both the daily service and combat activities of military personnel. They include barracks, dining halls, kitchens, medical stations, armories, utility and sanitation facilities, boiler houses, water supply systems, backup generators, and modern communication and fire alarm systems.

During a visit to the newly commissioned sites, Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov instructed the Air Combat Command to ensure the continuous protection of Azerbaijan's airspace. He also emphasized the importance of mastering the tactical and technical capabilities of newly introduced weapons and military equipment through training and exercises to improve combat effectiveness.

The Defense Ministry said the new facilities support Azerbaijan's broader defense modernization program, aimed at strengthening the armed forces' operational readiness and technical capabilities under President Ilham Aliyev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
