Azerbaijan Intensifies Military Exercises in the country and in Turkey

On April 25, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported that according to the training plan for 2023 approved by the Azerbaijan Defense Minister, live-fire tactical exercises held in the daylight hours and at night with the Rocket and Artillery Troops’ units of the Azerbaijan Army continue. In accordance with the plan, the educational and material base of the artillery divisions, which were withdrawn from the points of permanent deployment to assembly areas, the supply of military personnel, and the level of accomplishment of individual and group standards were inspected. Then, the units took firing positions and fulfilled combat firing tasks from multiple launch rocket systems and artillery devices. Imaginary enemy targets were destroyed with accurate fire strikes in the exercises held to improve the units' practical skills and increase the servicemen's combat capability.

On April 26, the Air Defense Units carried out combat firing at the combined-arms training range. The main objective of combat firing is to improve military personnel's skills in controlling anti-aircraft missile systems and increase their combat capability. The standards for deploying the OSA and S-125 anti-aircraft missile system at the starting position and preparing for combat usage were fulfilled during the firing. The anti-aircraft missile systems combat crews professionally accomplished tasks of detecting and destroying targets of an imaginary enemy by practical firing.

On the same day, the flight and technical staff, as well as the Azerbaijan Air Force aircraft, left for Turkish Konya to participate in the "Anatolian Eagle - 2023" International Exercises. A group of servicemen of the Azerbaijan Air Force and Su-25 attack aircraft to be involved in the exercises starting on May 2. The multinational exercises to be held with the participation of representatives of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and England will continue until May 12. 

On April 27, the combat skills of armored personnel carrier (APC) crews were enhanced through specialized training classes. These classes took place on a combined-arms range, where APC crews practiced driving and shooting in practical exercises. The crews navigated rough terrain and successfully completed tasks such as driving combat vehicles and shooting from armored vehicles. The main aim of these classes was to improve the individual skills of military personnel and strengthen the overall combat capabilities of the units.
