On Karabakh issue

Fazil Mustafa, Azerbaijani MP and the chairman of the Great Order Party, stated that Russia does not even know what it wants to do in Karabakh. "The lack of a systematic foreign policy of this state was evident in the Ukraine war. Its presence in Karabakh is a mechanism that preserves Russia's ability to influence Azerbaijan and Armenia. Russia has no solution plan, only an attempt at non-solution. However, the region's realities have changed so that there are limited opportunities to direct such efforts towards the planned result as in previous years. Azerbaijan's strengthening in the region and Turkey's presence in the field as a regional state are very important factors," he added.

"In the end, firing at our soldiers gives us a basis for movement and vitality in the region. We must take advantage of this to strike back at the first opportunity. We have little chance to determine what will happen in the future, for the answer to the question of what will happen to Russia, what will happen in Armenia, the course of relations with Iran, and the activity of the West level must be properly read and understood. I think the greater part of the difficulty has been overcome," Fazil Mustafa stated.

"Military operations can start again if the situation escalates and the negotiations reach a deadlock. However, periodic anti-terrorist operations are inevitable. By any means, subjugating Khankendi should be our main goal," he concluded.

On the political system in Azerbaijan

MP Tahir Karimli stated that the issue of amending the draft law "On political parties" was decided based on the opinion of all the parties represented in the parliament. "If the law is considered anti-democratic, proposals should be made. If you do not propose if you assume that it is anti-democratic, what can we say? It turns out that you want it to be anti-democratic. You would make proposals, and if they did not pass, then you would say so. For example, 10,000 members, 20,000 seats, more than 200 members in each district, etc. There were proposals like this, and they disappeared. Now, this law has become loyal to a great extent," he added.

He said a new stage in Azerbaijan's state building is beginning: "Transition to a multi-party system in the real sense. What can we hide? Until today it was a one-party system. The New Azerbaijan Party operates as the ruling party, while the activities of other parties are very weak. The remaining potential of the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party and Musavat is not due to their skill. Just because the Musavat Party is the successor of the old Musavat - Rasulzade, there is some interest in it. That is why that line comes to a certain extent."

The MP also expressed his opinion about the lack of coordination of the new draft law with international organizations: "This is also the case in European parties. Finland is twice as small as ours, and there are 5,000 members. Of course, it would be better if you could operate comfortably, without headaches, and go the old way. But it's not like that. It is the need of the hour; we all need to re-introduce ourselves to society as a political force. If the majority has decided on adopting a new draft law, it must be adopted. If someone only criticizes and does not show facts, what else can we say? If only those facts had been shown, we would have discussed them, and maybe we would have agreed?"
