Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held talks in Kyiv on 6 August, reviewing bilateral cooperation, regional security and developments related to Russia's war in Ukraine.

The ministers discussed the implementation of agreements reached during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to Azerbaijan, while reviewing cooperation in trade, energy, investment, transport, humanitarian affairs and multilateral diplomacy. They also emphasized the importance of maintaining regular high-level dialogue and expanding bilateral cooperation through existing institutional mechanisms.

During a joint press conference, Sybiha said the two sides exchanged views on security developments in the South Caucasus, the Middle East and efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. He noted that Kyiv had briefed Azerbaijan on its peace initiatives and described Baku as an important partner in promoting regional stability.

Bayramov reiterated Azerbaijan's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and stressed the importance of ending hostilities through diplomatic means in accordance with international law. He also underscored energy cooperation, stating that Azerbaijan would be ready to supply natural gas to Ukraine if needed and expressing readiness to expand cooperation on regional energy security.

The ministers also highlighted Azerbaijan's humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, including reconstruction projects in Irpin, support for energy infrastructure and rehabilitation programs for Ukrainian children. The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on developments in the South Caucasus, with Bayramov briefing his counterpart on the regional situation and reconstruction efforts in Azerbaijan's territories recovered after the conflict.
