Dagestan Administration Head Resigns to Join Russo-Ukrainian War
On May 27, Sergey Melikov, the Head of the Federal Republic of Dagestan, announced that Alexey Gasanov, the Head of the Administration of the Head and Government of Dagestan, had left his post. Melikov noted that since the beginning of the "Special Military Operation" [Russo-Ukrainian War], Gasanov had repeatedly requested to be allowed to join the location "where today Dagestanis defend our free future."
Melikov stated, "Alexey Gasanov's next place of service will be our units participating in the special military operation. I am sure he will show his best qualities there, contributing to our common Victory." However, Melikov did not specify who would succeed Gasanov as the head of the administration.
