First Group of Azerbaijani IDPs Sent to Fuzuli

According to the information of the Azerbaijan State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, on August 18, the first group of 90 people (23 families) was sent to the city of Fuzuli for permanent residence.

On August 5 of this year, the first 144 families (509 people) who will live in the Fuzuli district were given newly built houses by lottery. The relocation of families to the city of Fuzuli will continue in the coming days. Before that, the permanent settlement of 203 families (793 people) was ensured in the city of Lachin.

Fuad Huseynov, the Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, said that in 2023, 144 families would be relocated to Fuzuli City, and 700 families would be resettled in Lachin City. "In the coming weeks, the return to Zabukh village of Lachin district will also begin. A lottery has already been held for the distribution of apartments among the first 20 families who will be transferred to the village of Zabukh," he said. Huseynov said that an initial migration to the city of Shusha is also planned.
