German Minister of State Visits Azerbaijan

On July 11, Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, received Tobias Lindner, the Minister of State of Germany, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani President reported.

They noted that the dynamics of the development of bilateral ties have increased and hailed the fact that a new page opened in the relations between the two countries after the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Germany this March. During the conversation, they talked about the normalization process of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the efforts made by Azerbaijan toward achieving peace.

The sides exchanged views on energy cooperation and strengthening this cooperation, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding signed in the energy field between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

On the same day, Jeyhun Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, received Tobias Lindner, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed various fields between Azerbaijan and Germany, including political, economic, energy security, culture, education, etc. noting that the dynamics of the development of relations in the fields are satisfactory, he said that high-level visits, including political contacts, play an important role in the growth of these dynamics. In this regard, the importance of the mechanism of political consultations in discussing the prospects of further expansion of relations between the two countries was emphasized.

"Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the other party in detail about the current situation in the region during the post-conflict period and the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. In this regard, it was pointed out that the continuous military and political provocations committed by Armenia against Azerbaijan and the continuation of the mine threat are among the obstacles facing the peace process," the report added.

Tobias Lindner stated that there are great opportunities for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany. He noted the existence of wide opportunities for the further development of cooperation in various fields, especially in using conventional and alternative energy sources. The minister also pointed out that Germany welcomes the efforts made to establish peace and security in the region.
