Gubad Ibadoglu's Health Worsens in Baku Pre-trial Detention Center
On August 14, lawyer Bahruz Bayramov met with Gubad Ibadoglu, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Democracy and Prosperity (ADR) Party, at Baku Pre-trial Detention Center No. 1. He says that Gubad Ibadoglu's health is deteriorating.
According to the lawyer, Ibadoglu said the hot weather increased his heart and blood pressure problems: "Furthermore, the sugar level in his blood has increased in recent days."
The lawyer noted that Gubad Ibadoglu denied the information published in some local media about his relations with Mubariz Mansimov, the owner of "The Palmalı" group of companies: " Mr. Gubad stated that he never met Mubariz Mansimov."
On August 4, the economist's brother Galib Bayramov said that doctors diagnosed Gubad Ibadoglu with aortic enlargement: "Rupture of the aorta can result in death."
According to Galib Bayramov, the economist, whose sugar and blood pressure are much higher than normal for 13 days, is rapidly losing weight: "Even if he takes the medicine on time and in the right amount, it will not be of any use. With the current conditions of detention (due to lack of air, immobility, unsanitary conditions, non-permission to meet with his family, and constant psychological pressure formed in other ways), it is inappropriate to talk about the improvement of his health."
Notably, on July 24, Baku's Narimanov District Court sentenced Gubad Ibadoglu to 3 months and 26 days in prison.
